Third Sector Consortium Launch

Representatives of over 100 front line and infrastructure organisations attended the launch event that presented the Strategy and Structure for the Consortium which will lead Portsmouth’s programme of work to support the third sector (voluntary and community sector) until 2014. The main purposes of the event were to consult on the strategic objectives that the Consortium Planning Group had developed; and to invite representatives to join the Executive Committee. Using the strategy and feedback, the Committee is developing a programme of work for which it will seek funding from Capacity Builders.
Participants also heard from Pat Samuels, Office of the Third Sector, and David Williams, Chief Executive, Portsmouth City Council, with Central and Local Government perspectives on priorities for strengthening third sector activity in the City.
