Managing Volunteers

PCCS is able to support the management of volunteers in a number of ways.  There are also a number of resources available through other organisations such as Volunteering England which can help in the support.

Volunteering England has a sector devoted to resources for Managing Volunteers, and are focused on any organisation involved with volunteers in any capacity.  This includes a Good Practice Bank  and an Excellence in Volunteer Management Programme.  For further information

please visit the Volunteering England Managing Volunteers Section

Support available from PCCS includes:

Volunteer Managers Group:  The Volunteer Manager’s Group is co-hosted by Shelley Price, Corporate Services Manager at PCCS and Ian Grimwood, Volunteer  Manager at Portsmouth City Council.  The group meets quarterly to discuss volunteering issues, give peer support and plan for major volunteering events.  The meetings are open to anyone who has responsibility for volunteers.

Training for Action in Communities courses are available via TRACs.  These offer low cost training to the Community and Voluntary Sector in and around Portsmouth.
